Nakajima E8N "Daves" somewhere over China.

It looks good Dave, nice to see some experimentation with cg backgrounds. If the clouds are cg also, they look really effective because I can't tell.

Some suggestions I could make is

• Perhaps stronger lighting on the Daves
  Maybe more brown into the green of the landscape as it looks a bit rich in colour.

I've had a habit of using an hdri while modeling, something to look at the model in the preview in Modo. The hdri that I was using is at the shore and there are a lot of distractions at ground level, so I've been moving the texture locator down about 12". I only see the sky when I do that. Well, I had forgotten about that when I put the TG generated hdri into the scene. When I fixed the texture locator, elevation, I found it much better. I also removed the other pair of aircraft too.

That looks much better and makes a big difference.

Personally I think the planes are missing some reflectivity of the environment/color still, they look very matte.
