Do we need to set up something where membership needs to be approved?

I don't thinks so. I am monitoring registrations currently - because we had a flood of spambots strike the other day, but that seems to have slowed after I installed Akismet's spam protection. I will double check that.

I think after you register you automatically go into "New Register User" category until you post 3 times then you move to "Registered" I will confirm this.

Most of the recent registrations are spam. See attached.

I've banned quite a few users with username "marin*". They have been posting spam.

I've been seeing a blue ? at each thread which needs a post to be approved. And so far, that has indicated that one of those new users has posted garbage.

I have changed the registration recaptcha from what it was using to non-searchable questions and created 3. They require a human to review and respond. I am hoping this helps with the influx of spam bots. I may add a few more simple questions.

That looks like it helped. I'm an hour behind you and when I first looked there weren't any posts to 'approve'.
